Bristles
Nylon is used where physical, thermal and mechanical strengths are required. Unfavourably are the high water absorption, the bad relation between the dry- and wet stiffness and the incompatibility against mineral acids and their solutions.
Polyester exceeds in all important ranges the rate onf Nylon, as for example the resetting elasticity, the putting up ability, the water absorption and the heat- and chemicals resistance.
PP-fibres hav a low water absorption and a high resistance against chemicals but they are break-suscepibly and less heat resistant. Synthetic fibres as above described are also used with flagged fibres, they are soft and surface-carefully, dust and hair attractive, but they are not PHB conform. Hollow fibres and structured surfaces are not allowed. Natural fibres are not allowed in critical hygienic areas.
Rubber squeegees
Sponges which are used in hygienic areas must have minimum 95% closed cells, this is written in the FEIBP Charta. The water absorption of our black special rubber strips is under 5%, the water absorption of our food-approved rubbers is even under 1%. Refill rubbers fit in all of our plastic rubbers squeegees.
Handles
All handles with the 
can be used with all articles with the , irrespective of the exterior diameter of the handle. Handles with haug coupling system are excellent for a professional and extremly strong connection to the cleaning equipment. We recommend a handle with 25 mm exterior diameter for floor articles from 400 mm on.
Colour Coding
Through the 5 different bristle colours(white, red, blue, green and yellow) a definition of different cleaning areas is possible. This system also avoids cross-contaminations. Every company has the opportunity to specify their different cleaning areas with a different colour.
Care and storage
Through our high quality standards there must be no hesitation about the hygienically standards of our products in using them by thermal and fluid treatment. Pleas pay attention not to put the bristles under pressure while ther are under hot heat or steam treatment. Cleaning equipment must be kept in good ventilated rooms or closet in hanging positions without floor- or wall contact.
Rules and controls
The regulations of the Council Directive 93/43 EWG are continued by law (EG) no. 852/2004 of the European Parliament and Council of Ministers dated 29.04.2004 and have been converted in german law. It describes the hygiene standards for all food-processing areas. The HACCP-concept can only work out with a careful cleaning and disinfection. haug bürsten follows these hygiene regulations with their hygienic brushes. The European Brushware Federation F.E.I.B.P. has additionally established a charter and a logo for Professional Hygiene Brushware "PHB" starting the 1.1.2002 which has been assigned only to manufacturers of high quality professional brushware. The purchasers should be more confident to use brushware which comply with all existing hygiene regulations. Of course haug bürsten is registered and allowed to use the logo. The german association for the food quality control also recommends haug hygienic brushes.
